Emery’s POV

I was slowly walking and watching Terrence as he pushed the cart. Gabriel’s inside the cart and he keeps on pointing and pointing at anything he likes, but every time Terrence would get it, I’d clear my throat. It’s not like I don’t want him to buy something for Gabriel but he’s doing that thinking he’s our child. I can’t let him get close to Gabriel when I know in the end… he’ll leave him… us.

“Momma doesn’t like it,” Terrence whispered to Gabriel when he pointed at a box of chocolate.

Gabriel glanced at me before he sat comfortably on the cart again. I just sigh and shake my head.

Terrence stopped in front of the meat section and looked at me. “Hold the cart.”

I did not say anything but I obliged. I held the handle of the cart and fixed Gabriel’s hair with my fingers. I smiled at him. “Momma’s not angry. I’m just worried about my baby Eli’s teeth.”
