Emery’s POV

I pushed him and glanced at Gabriel’s door. I think he’s already asleep so I’m somehow relieved. I looked at Terrence again and saw drunk with so many emotions.

I swallowed hard and tried to hide my racing heart. I’m afraid he’ll hear it. He’d realize he still affects me and I’m afraid he’ll realize it. I can’t… now that he’s getting married.

“Why did you do that?” I asked with pressed lips.

His eyes softened even more. “Did what?”

I gasped. “That! You… you kissed me! Why did you do that?”

He took a step forward which made me take a step back. I flinched when my back rested against the counter as he put his hands on my both sides, caging me between his arms and body again.
