Chapter 44. Helplessly Tempted

Emery’s POV

Boxing. It’s my way of blowing off some steam and I wanted to go to the gym right now and punch anyone who would challenge me to a fight.

“You looked stressed.”

I looked at Tristan. I’m here at the pool area, dipping my feet underwater and he came to interrupt my thoughts. I’m thankful though. He can distract me from thinking about what happened in Terrence’s office this morning.

“I researched ‘bout shops who personalize instruments. All that are closed. Do you wanna see it?”

Shocked, I turned to him again. “Why?”

He smiled. “What why? Why would you see it or why did I research it?”

“Why are you helping me?”

He smiled again and took his shirt off. He glanced at me. “You know the answer.”

My eyes followed him as he jumped to the water without splashing on me. He swam to the other side and combed his wet hair after he resurfaced and looked at me again.
