Chapter 123. I Need Help

I stayed like that for a few moments, letting the weight of everything crash over me. Tears streamed down my face, hot and unchecked, as the reality of my situation sank deeper. 

How did everything go wrong so quickly? It was like life hated me and was trying to make sure that I could never be happy. Just last night, life had started to seem manageable, if not okay again. Now, it felt like it was spiraling out of control.

After a few deep breaths, I wiped my tears away with the back of my hand. I had to pull myself together. There was no time to fall apart, not when everything was on the line. I needed to be strong so I could find a way to get Mark out of there. 

I needed help, and the CEO was my best chance of getting it. He was influential and powerful and also had some contacts in the police. I remembered the last time when he used one of his contacts for us to find out who Grace was at that time.
