Chapter 170. A Bet

I turned to look at him, my curiosity piqued despite my weariness. “A bet?” I echoed, confused. “What do you mean?” 

Josh sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as if trying to figure out where to start. “Yeah, a bet. It was years ago, long before you ever knew Bradley or me. He and I were just a couple of ambitious young men who had risen to power. Our company was a huge success and everything was going well.” 

“Okay…” I beckoned him to continue. I was intrigued as to where all of this was going, and it was interesting to have a look into the past of him and Bradley. 

“We had all the women we could get and life was great. But we wanted more, not more money or power; we wanted more thrill, more adrenaline, and excitement in our lives because honestly, it all got boring pretty fast. Then our eyes landed on the most beautiful mediator ever when we went to PowerHouse Designs to have a building built for us.” 

“You’re talking about me…” I nodded slowly
