Detective Jacobs stared at me as silence filled the room for a few long seconds before he finally spoke, “It’s not about what I believe or not, it’s about the law. And by that, Bradley Specter is guilty.” 

I swallowed. I had a feeling that he did not believe that the CEO was the one who had killed Nora just by his response. “Can I at least talk to him? Please…” 

He sighed. “Look, Lisa. I have a lot of work to do, I’m really busy. You don’t just walk in here and demand to see someone who is in jail all because you want to talk to them. There is something called process or procedure.”

“Please…I just need five minutes with him.” 

He shook his head firmly. “No. That’s not happening, Mrs. Specter. Now, if you leave, I will make sure to pull some strings and you can talk to him tomorrow. How about that?”
