Chapter 184. Tension
“Yeah…” I stared at the TV too. “But it’s also funny. In a dark way,” I replied, swirling the spaghetti around my fork. I was not sure if I was really hungry or just eating because it was routine. My stomach felt tight, like a knot that would not loosen.
I glanced at my dad, watching him devour his meal with the enthusiasm of someone who had not tasted real food in years. This made me smile a bit; it was a very small and unnoticeable one but it was a smile nevertheless.
Maybe it was true. Since we turned, things had been different, not just physically, but emotionally too. The thirst was always there, yes, but it was more than that.
Everything…everything was so heightened, sharper, and more real now. So imagine, my depression was now multiplied by two. My anxiety, stress, overthinking…and the list goes on and on. It was all doubled since I had become a vampire.&
