A sinking feeling sat in my stomach when I remembered that there was no beating Josh, the video and security footage was gone.

I placed my free hand on my hip and tried to figure out how to tell the lawyer. “Mike, the video’s gone.”

There was silence for a few seconds and then the guy replied, “What do you mean by the video is gone?”

“It got erased, and that’s not all. I tried to get the security footage of when he had kidnapped me but it was conveniently taken away to be used in an investigation.” 

“Lisa…” He sounded disappointed. “Were you ever honest with me? Was there really a video?”

I scoffed, taken aback. But I could understand why he would feel like this. “Listen, Mike…”

But he stopped me mid-sentence. “No, you listen. If you were being serious and there was really a video and footage from a security cam, then you need to come over right now so we can get to the bottom of it.”
