Chapter 212. Why Are You Late?
“Well, I don’t think big time lawyers would like for their time to be wasted too,” I replied. I mean, I appreciated him trying to assure me but we had to be realistic. This was the real world.
“I guess so,” he said in a breathy tone.
We walked in silence as I led the way to the office. When we reached it, we could see Mike because the door and walls were made of glass. He seemed alone and very focused on what he was doing on his computer.
“Do we just knock?” Mark asked.
I released a sigh and pushed open the door, leading the way. As soon as we walked into the office, Mike looked up from his computer and locked eyes with me. He seemed annoyed. “You’re late,” He said in a dull tone before peeling his eyes off me and looking at Mark.
