Chapter 289. Maybe I'm Fragile

I stood by the door for a few more seconds but it sounded like they had gotten even more quiet so I needed to go inside. I cleared my throat and took in a deep breath before letting it out slowly. 

Then I reached for the doorknob and opened the door. They got quiet as soon as I entered. “What shouldn’t Josh tell me?” I asked, going straight to the point. 

“You were eavesdropping? Seriously?” My dad asked. 

“Yes, I was. Now answer the question.” I hooked some strands of my hair behind my ears and waited for an answer.

Both of them exchanged glances before my father locked eyes with me again. “Um…Lisa, I don’t think you have to know everything. Do you know that saying? Ignorance is bliss, maybe it is.”

“No, Dad. You don’t get to run away this time. I want to know. I’m not a child, not anymore. Stop trying to protect me,” I argued. 

“There was a note,” Josh blurted out, causing my dad to curse under his breath.
