Chapter 42. Packing up

I was left standing in the office, feeling like everything in there was mocking me. My heart felt heavy and I felt like crying. I hated that I had to give up my job and that I would have to live with the CEO, especially because of how he was now acting.

There was a tension between us that was not even the good kind. But I had to think on the bright side, this was not so bad. I just had to do absolutely nothing for a year and make money from that.

At least, with that, I would be able to save and maybe buy a new apartment. Because right now, I wanted nothing to do with my current one, especially after Mark had thrown it in my face that the place was his too, and that he was on the lease.

I needed boxes to pack my things in. Maybe just one, because I did not do many things in here. I had almost everything that I needed in the office when I got here for the first time.

Running my hair through my hair, I could feel a headache coming on but I ignored it.
