Chapter 24

The night was young when Diana found her door unlocked. Someone had breached the security lock and snuck into her home when she wasn’t there. Her heart pounded faster in her chest as she peeped through to check if the attacker was still there. Who could have done this? She had a few ideas, but she didn’t expect that after the attack last time, they would try again so soon.

Diana walked into her home, panicking. She found the sofas in the living room overturned; the center table as well. Her hand was on her chest as frown lines split her forehead. She dropped her bag and keys on the floor and rushed into her bedroom. It was the same thing. Her shelf and work table. All her documents for the current cases and past ones were shredded to pieces.
