Chapter 23

Xavier’s smile wouldn’t leave as he followed Lyca on the walk back to their home; although she was making an outright rejection, Xavier didn’t care because he knew how strong his connection was to her, especially their wolf.

“Let’s keep our distance, so go first…” Lyca asserted as she stopped her walk.

Xavier was ready to annoy Lyca even more, but he couldn’t go through with it as the howl echoed around the area.

“Ahh-woh!!!”

“That’s Jaxson… What’s going on?” Xavier uttered, sensing Jaxson’s wolf is tormenting by something.

Since Lyca is unfamiliar with the pack, she can’t figure out why Xavier made that remark. But she didn’t have a chance to investigate what was happening because Xavier dashed.

Running at his full speed, Lyca could not catch up with Xavier, so she stopped in the yard of the house.

It takes a second when the others rush out, and by the looks on their faces, Lyca deduces that something is wrong.
