I froze, staring at Diego, completely bewildered. “Wait… what do you mean?”

He raised an eyebrow, chewing thoughtfully on his toast. “You know… how was it?”

I frowned. “How… was what?”

That’s when I noticed Sebastian. His posture stiffened, his jaw tightened, and I swear his entire body started radiating panic. His eyes darted around the room, fingers fidgeting with the edge of his shirt like he’d just been caught doing something scandalous.

Diego leaned back, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “The date. With Sebastian… yesterday. How was it?”

My stomach twisted in a mix of confusion and dawning realization. He wasn’t asking me; he was teasing him. I glanced at Sebastian and saw the subtle flush creeping up his neck, the way his gaze avoided mine, and the almost desperate urgency in the way he shifted on his feet.

I bit back a laugh, trying not to betray myself, and Diego’s satisfied chuckle made it worse.
