The knock was soft… too soft for Diego. That man had been nothing but a bully since what he tagged as my first official heartbreak.
Kenna.
“Come in,” I muttered, even though everything in me wanted to stay buried under the covers.
She pushed the door open and stepped inside with something in her hands.
A carton sealed with brown tape.
“Seb…” Her voice was careful, like she was approaching a wounded animal. “This came for you.”
“If it was a gift, you can have it. If it wasn’t, then please dispose of it.”
“Without checking the content?” She asked, worried that the issue is affecting my reasoning.
“Then do whatever you want with it.” I retorted, not wanting to be disturbed.
“It came from Dahlia.”
My chest seized painfully.
“Do you still want me to dispose of it?” She asked teasingly. She knew what my answer would be. Without waiting for me to say anything, she set the carton on the edge of my bed.
