Chapter 66
SEBASTIAN
Markus fell into step beside me, quiet and efficient as always. We exited through the back, away from the curious eyes of my restaurant staff. We didn’t take my car. Markus was here with the company’s car and, of course, the driver.
As soon as we pulled onto the main road, I sent a quick message to Diego. I was supposed to give him feedback on my meeting with Matilda. We agreed to meet later for lunch. That plan is obviously cancelled.
Immediately he got my message, he put a call through. He knows I’m not the type to go back on my words, unless it’s necessary.
“Hey, what’s up?” He went straight to the point when I picked up the call.
“Nothing that serious. I need to sort out a mess real quick. The company is facing a legal battle.”
“Legal, you say?” I can perceive his worries from his tone. “And you said it’s not serious. What’s going on?”
“I…” He doesn’t give me space to answer.
“You know what, I’m on my way.”
