Chapter 36

“Hey,” David said, his voice echoing silently for a few seconds. He tapped Rowlise's cheek gently twice, and her eyes opened slowly.

As her eyes fully opened, they widened in surprise to what she saw. “Whoa! What place is this?” she asked.

“I'm not sure…” David replied. They were both suspended mid air in a space completely white. They were surrounded by large floating grey objects that looked like metal gears, and at the center of these gears were holes that glowed really brightly.

“This is called the Oblivion,” Veronica's voice sounded. Both David and Rowlis turned in her direction and saw her and the others standing on one of the metal gears.

Rowlis held David's hand and activated a blaster in her palm to push them in Veronica's direction.

After a few seconds they both landed on the gear, and David asked, “Isn't this the place I came when I died?”
