Chapter 16
When I finally finish climbing the stairs, I try to peek over the nurse's shoulder. My rapid breathing mixes with Isaac's, making it difficult for me to try to calm down. We pressed our hand against my chest, trying to catch my breath. To make sure that boy is not who I think, I try to bend over. The security guard stops me. He orders me to stay away. I push your hand and lean even more.
The boy has a thin face and deep dark circles. His nose is long and his too thin lips are purplish. I don't give myself to work to keep listening to what the security guard says. I run in the opposite direction, going down to the stumbles as a detour of the security guards and nurses who arrive in the mountains. They notice my presence and one of them tries to hold my arm.
I slip twice while I run, being aware that I am being followed. Isaac's tears run down my face. I dry them, trying to drive your fear far away. I slip when I go around the corridor and run again.
