Chapter 55
“Is this another one of your creations?” Opal asked Adres threateningly.
“No, not really,” Adres said.
“He’s lying. At least partially,” Blue said.
Bartz moved his sword close enough to Adres to easily shave his chin. “Tell the whole story,” Bartz said, cutting off some of Adres’ scrappy beard.
“Okay, okay,” Adres said as he lifted his hands, “I’ll tell my part of the story.” He turned to Opal and said, “You really should consider giving your knights a bit more sensitivity training.”
Opal walked up to Adres and kneed him in the personal area.
“My knights are nothing compared to me!” she said. “Now talk before I decide we don’t need to hear it.”
“Okay,” Adres said as he painfully straightened himself up. “I did create a young two-headed red dragon. But it proved to be especially hostile and especially impossible to train. I flushed it down the drain.”
“You flushed it?” Bartz said.
“Well, it was my creation. I didn’t have the heart
