“We got permission, alpha.” One of the wolves approached Kayden and informed him that other packs were now aware of the situation and had offered a hand to help.

“Gunner?” Kayden called out to his beta “Gather 6 warriors with you.” He continued before calling out for other warriors to accompany him.

“Where are they going?” Zayla asked Ryder, who was standing beside her and nodding. She realized that he was probably talking to Kayden telepathically.

“They’re going on a manhunt for Jackson. Meanwhile,” Ryder smiled at her, “I’ll stay with you and the rest of the pack. He wouldn’t want to leave you alone again, you know.” He added with a hint of a teasing tone, wiggling her eyebrows at Zayla.

Somehow, Zayla found herself laughing at the sentiment. After Kayden, Ryder was the next person she trusted out of the people she had met in Portland.

“Will,” Kayden quietly called out as he approached her and Ryder. “Can I talk to you for a little while?”
