Chapter 76
The deepest guttural sound resonated around the area as Kayden and Maximus ripped Cloud’s head off.
“I knew there was something off with this one.” Kayden was still breathing rapidly and catching his breath, seeing the body of the Alpha of the North Carolina pack twitch on the ground while blood was still spurting out of its torn neck.
The alpha of the Alaskan pack, Maximus, nodded in agreement, “I found him odd too because when we coincidentally met, he hesitated to tell me what his business was with the Blood Moon pack and you.” He kicked the lifeless body on the ground and added, “He only started telling me what he came for after I said my own reasons.”
“I came alone, too.” Cloud had stated when Maximus asked him further. This was one of the other reasons he found Cloud’s presence uncanny because, given the circumstance of their visit, it is not safe to travel alone even if he was an alpha.
