Chapter 29. Nobody’s Safe
Clinton can’t get hold of Mary. The reception is terrible that he chose to drive down to University of Chicago himself. He’s worried and scared of losing her.
He walked out from his black jeep and paid attention for any sound of heartbeat. He had come to a dead end that looks so calm like a grave yard except for the thunder that continued to roar.
The underground parking lot isn’t where he should be looking. He walked back into his black jeep and drove out.
He just remembered that Mary told him she was heading for a coffee before coming home.
As he started driving toward the coffee shop, he continued to dial Mary’s number. Just like before, the poor reception continued to frustrate him. He gnawed and slammed his cell phone down on the dashboard.
He finally came to a stop in front of the coffee shop. Before he could get out from the car, his phone buzzed loudly.
