Chapter 74. Prey

Passing through the road that leads to the Dens of Hell, Mary and Joe started hearing screams coming from a hallow-looking rock. The rock has the shape of a dragon. The screams were agonizing and Mary felt for those in there.

“Is that hell?” she asked.

“That’s Dens of Hell where captured witches are kept and tortured.”

On hearing the word ‘witches’. She picked interest in it and started firing some questions at Joe. “Why are demons torturing witches? Can’t the witches fight back? Is there no way out for them?”

Joe stares with disbelief on his face. He didn’t have answers to all the questions Mary asked. All he knew and have heard is that there’s a place called ‘Dens of Hell’. A place where witches are kept and tortured. He didn’t want to keep Mary hanging without answering her. He opens his mouth to speak. “I know nothing much about that fucking place. All I could tell you is, never you look back twice passing through this road.”
