Chapter 94. Why Me?

REAL WORLD: AT MEL’S APARTMENT

The warden had held them back for long. Datu continued chanting his ancient Egyptian spells to weaken the warden. Ruby and Mel couldn’t see him. But they did hear his chants. It was so terrifying as the entire house began to shake.

“What do we do now?” Ruby cried out.

If Datu succeeds in bringing down the warden, his ghouls will invade Mel’s apartment. And this won’t end well for Mel and Ruby. There’s no way they will let Datu get hold of Mary or Daniel. They have to do all they can to stop Datu.

“We will call for help!” Mel quickly grabbed her spell book. She started flipping through the pages.

Interrupting her, Ruby approached. “Who do you want to call?” she asked sternly.

There’s no one they could call to help them out. The people they know that could have helped are either dead or nowhere to be found. It’s just the two of them trying to play heroes in Texas even though they knew how powerful Datu is.
