I had gotten an invitation to come to the Mateo Group’s 20th year company anniversary, and since Harmony was also attending, we had reasoned that it would seem awkward if we both went there separately without the company of the other person. As it was, we already had enough drama going on in our lives and we couldn’t add another one to it.
“For some reason, I feel so nervous,” Harmony said.
“I feel the exact same way,” I said, adjusting the black bowtie that complimented my outfit for tonight’s dinner.
