Tangled Hearts: Chapter 4

Isabella was too stunned to speak, the first reaction she gave after hearing what Ryan said was to frantically scan the crowd and when her hazel eyes settled on a pair of crystal blue ones, she stopped.

Her gaze locked with his. She tried to make out what he was thinking, what could be going on in his mind. She didn’t know what she was looking for but she knows that if he makes one move, she would turn and run away from there, to put an end to everything. But what he did, she didn’t know to react to it.

He smiled at her, a beautiful smile that made her wonder if she was still in her wishful thinking, if she was still lost in that fantasy that she thought she had finally let go of. The next thing he did, he whispered something to his sister that was standing beside him and was clearly in shock and then he made his way through the crowd and left, leaving her staring at his tall stoic back.
