Tangled Hearts: Chapter 7

Chris felt like he was impaled hearing Isabella’s words, he felt like he had been struck by a bolt of lightning straight to his heart. His breathing was failing him, but in all the emotional turmoil he was going through, with the entire breakdown he was suffering inside, he kept his face as blank as he could, evidence of years of practice.

When he heard the priest’s words, “I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride,” and saw Ryan unveiling her face, it took all the strength in him to just take a step back rather than stop the action. He knew they have done that often and even way more but for some reason, it was hard watching it happen today.

He wanted to walk away, to stay far away from the church, but Ryan is family and he had promised to be his best man and his best man he shall be even if the woman he was wedding is the only one he sees himself doing such with. A round of applause soon filled the church as everyone gave the newlywed a standing ovation
