Ryan stared at her in shock hearing what she had to say, “what did you just say?”

“You heard me,” Monica smiled sadly, “I can remember I kept asking dad what happened, why mom abandoned us to marry someone else and he was like I will understand when I was older. I didn’t see her again throughout that period. Simon doesn’t even know how she looks because dad took out every picture of her, saying that we don’t need to miss someone that doesn’t miss us. Time flew by with just the three of us, dad’s illness was getting stronger because of lack of proper treatment and he had overworked himself trying to raise up money to pay off his debts. But after words got out that he sold a customer’s car, a lot of his customers stopped coming and when he finally died, I lost the others. No one wanted a girl repairing his car,” she shrugged.

Ryan nodded and patted her knee, “hey, everything would be okay, you will see.”

Monica smiled and sniffled, “before dad died though, he told me
