Chapter 18
Taylor’s POV
The drive to my parent’s house was filled with a mix of anticipation and apprehension. I longed for the familiar comfort of their presence, the feeling of being safe in their embrace. Yet, deep down, I knew that opening up about the pain I had carried for so long would bring back memories that were still raw and painful.
As I pulled into the driveway, my hands trembled on the steering wheel. Taking a deep breath, I gathered my courage and stepped out of the car. The front door swung open, and there stood my parents, their faces etched with concern and love.
“Tay, sweetheart, it’s so good to see you,” my mom said, enveloping me in a warm hug. My dad stood beside her, his gentle presence a pillar of strength.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I clung to them, unable to hold back the flood of emotions any longer. “Mom, Dad, I… I need to talk to you.”
My parents exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with a mixture of worry and determination.
