Taylor’s POV

I was lying in her hospital bed, contemplating everything that had unfolded in the past few days. The room felt heavy with the weight of my experiences, but I was determined to heal and move forward. Just then, there was a knock on the door, and Mila cautiously entered.

“Mila,” I whispered, my voice weak but filled with curiosity. “What brings you here?”

Mila approached the bed, her eyes filled with remorse and regret. “Taylor, I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart. I never meant to cause you pain or to expose you to Michael’s presence. I intended to protect you from Grant’s abusive behavior.”

I looked at Mila, my expression a mix of surprise and understanding. “I appreciate your honesty, Mila. But why did you involve yourself? It must have been difficult for you too.”

Mila took a deep breath, her voice trembling slightly. “You’re right, Taylor. It was difficult for me, but I couldn’t bear the thought of someone else fallin
