Chapter 48
Taylor’s POV
I sat down with Yumi in the cafeteria, a cup of tea in hand, as she looked at me curiously. It was a typical evening.
“So, how was your day?” Yumi asked, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.
I took a sip of my tea, savoring the warmth as I reflected on the events of the day. “It was incredible, Yumi. Mavi and I participated in the marathon, and it was such a memorable experience, you missed the fun, Yumi. If only you joined us,” I said.
Yumi grinned, her playful nature shining through. “You’re smiling, Taylor. I can tell something good happened.”
I felt my cheeks flush, and I tried to hide my smile. “No, I wasn’t. I was just happy to have accomplished the marathon. It was a fun day.” Yumi raised an eyebrow, her smile widening. “Come on, Tay. You can’t fool me. I’ve known you for too long. There’s something more to that smile.”
