Chapter 13. Setting an Example

It’s been a week since I was visited by Selene, and I have not told anyone of my revelations of that night, not even Chase.

He’s been the perfect mate, sweet, attentive and funny. He seems determined for me to like being here, so I will not leave, but he can’t be by my side at all times and others have made it perfectly clear that I am more than not welcome. His father is seemingly the lesser of my problems as I’ve experienced mockery and downright cruelty from others behind Chase’s back. My thought is they are hoping to have me run crying to my mate and taddle of how evil they are being to me, so they can show ‘what a weak queen I will be’, but that will not happen. Not now, not ever!
