Chapter 19. May She Stay?

Kiara’s POV

Do these two nincompoops think they have a chance to break us up?

This is a feeble attempt to take Maze and me apart, and I will not stand for it! I look between them before speaking, trying to rein in my wolf, who is outraged by the sheer audacity of the two on the other side of the table.

The silence stretches on for another minute while I try and bite my tongue, but then I decide to just lay it on them. They started this themselves, and Maze already silently approved of me ripping them a new one.

Aunt Abby and Uncle Matt look on in slight amusement, but their eyes express worry and sadness as well. I think I know where the two last emotions come from. They are disappointed in Mira, and they know we must inform her parents of her whereabouts. They will insist that she stays here, and seeing as Maze never banned her from coming back, to my knowledge at least, then she has a right to be with her family. That is probably where the worry come
