Chapter 22. The Snake, the Fox, and the Wolf

Kiara’s POV

Everything is blurry.

My body hurts everywhere, and my head is pounding with the worst headache of all times.

I am moving, but I am not walking on my own two feet. Someone is carrying me, but it is not nice or comfortable. It’s as if they have been pulled over their shoulder like a ragdoll, running at high speed, trying to get as far away from something or someone as possible. I force open one eye, but the movement, my headache and the blurriness makes me close it tightly again.

I can feel Winter working her best to heal us, but I do not know from what yet. She doesn’t speak to me—she hasn’t spoken to me since the day Maze accused us of cheating. She is as heartbroken as me, and she briefly let me know she’ll need time to grieve. We are both sure Maze is going to reject us, but maybe he just kicked us out and threw us to the demons or rogues out here? No! As much as he is an asshat who jumps to the wrong conclusions, he is not a bad Alpha,
