Adrian's POV
She was gone from my presence before I could send Fay away. I tried searching for her when another figure showed up in front of me. I closed my eyes and sent a silent prayer to the Moon goddess to give me the strength to not break someone's neck today.
I opened my eyes only to see Nathan in front of me, grinning wildly. Must be nice to have someone you've always wanted as a mate as your mate.
He noticed that I wasn't mirroring his excitement, and his smile disappeared and was replaced by a frown. "Who pissed in your cereal? You look like you're about to go on a killing spree," he observed, and I took a deep sigh.
He wasn't the reason I lost sight of Lola; I did not need to take out my frustrations on him.
"I was just disturbed by something. I'm fine. Where's your precious mate, and why are you not with her?" I asked him. If I saw Lyla, I'd see Lola too. She's her only friend, and they tend to be together.
