As customary in any royal marriages, we were supposed to greet the public after the ceremony but since Asher and I got married under different circumstances, we had to do it in the morning. I felt so tired because he didn’t let me get enough rest last night!
As the first rays of dawn gently kissed my face, I stirred from my slumber and I was gradually aware of the bustling energy outside the matrimonial room. The soft whispers and the sound of fabrics indicated that my ladies-in-waiting were already at work.
With a groggy smile, I sat up in bed and allowed the layers of sleep to fall away. Today was the day I would greet the public, and embody the role of their princess with grace and elegance.
Asher was also awakened when my ladies-in-waiting moved in with graceful efficiency. My husband was taken into the adjacent room where his valet would help him to prepare for the day. I smiled at my ladies who were eager for their job.
