Chapter 54

I couldn't get over the terrible kiss that had happened. I felt dirty and violated, even though it wasn't the first time I had encountered that man. I tried to forget about the kiss by brushing my teeth and cleaning my mouth countless times. But then, remembering how I had tried to return the kiss, I felt embarrassed, and Henry insulted me by laughing at me.

The next morning, I was surprised to see a man standing outside my room. I furrowed my brow as I looked at him for the first time and asked, "Who are you?"

"I'm your bodyguard, Miss," he replied while smirking at me. 

What a surprising and unusual thing! As a maid, I never expected to have a bodyguard. I stormed into Henry's room and confronted him. I didn't want to face him again after that awful kiss, but I had no choice.
