On Saturday, Lyra fought with Nyrhl. She tried to explain to the creature what is good and bad, but he listened and did everything his way. Lucas had hidden away in the attic and didn't show his face for days.
And on Sunday, Lyra gave up. She needed rest and peace, even if just for half a day. That is why she went for a morning jog, her footsteps echoing through the quiet streets. As she entered the park, the cool morning air filled her lungs, providing a momentary reprieve from the suffocating pressures of her world.
Completing her final lap, Lyra's thought about classmates that she wanted to see.
After knocking on the door for an hour, she finally got a response from the twins' room.
"Why are you knocking? Can't you see they're not home?" said the girl from the neighboring room.
