Chapter 13. Down the Drain
"Lyra, where did you get such magical strength?" The Headmaster asked directly. He burned her with his gaze, trying to penetrate deep into her soul.
The cabinet was dark; thick curtains covered the windows, not allowing any hope of light to penetrate from the outside. Darkness and a small candle flame, like the last ray of hope, burned on the Headmaster's desk. When he breathed, the flame crackled and seemed to twitch as if it would soon be subjected to inhuman anger. Adrian, leaning on the table's edge, also looked at Lyra.
"Until this moment, you were an adept who barely reached the average strength norm. And suddenly, such power. Either you are too stupid, or you are a genius. Hiding in plain sight and secretly engaging in activities," Marcus clicked his tongue as if shaming her.
Lyra couldn't understand what she was being accused of. Adrian was not looking at her. But she needed his support.
