Chapter 17. Bright Burn
"Well, look at me now, what a beauty I am," Rosie tried to smile.
Her entire body was covered in minor, dotted burns from the frogs. The healers had numbed the elf and minimized the damage. The healing ointment was effective, and the burns were getting smaller with each application and were supposed to disappear soon. But for now, Rosie needed rest. She was given a separate room and fed highly nutritious broth.
"Lyra, please bring me some real food. I can't take another liquid meal," pleaded the elf. The girl shared her friend's sorrow, promising to bring something edible from the canteen next time.
"If not for that rooster, I would have dodged the frog," Rosie scolded herself again. Each time Lyra came, the elf cursed the spirit that had prevented her from getting enough sleep, causing her trouble.
"Please sincerely apologize to the team," Rosie asked again.
"You'll tell them yourself once you recover," Lyra replied.
