Chapter 14. A Walk in the Eternal Forest
As she applied the cream all over her body in the morning, Lyra noticed that her ointment supply was running dangerously low. Her fingers almost touched the bottom of the jar, meaning she needed to make a trip to the Eternal Forest for ingredients soon.
"Lucas," she called out to the spirit, "pick a good guise for yourself for tonight. We're going out."
"Domestic cat or scared dog?" he asked.
"Better a forest creature. Maybe an owl or a fox."
"I haven't been a red-headed creature in a while," he mused.
"Do you know who won the fight among the combat mages?" Lucas asked as Lyra covered up her under-eye bags with concealer.
"Not yet," she replied, her mouth hanging open. "The fight is in two days."
"I'm putting my money on Adam," the spirit guessed. Lyra also wanted Adam to win. She couldn't imagine if Sophie somehow won.
During the day, the adepts listened intently to Professor Harren's monologue during the lesson on Creature Studies.
