Chapter 7. Little Lie - Big Opportunities
Lyra dreamed of feeling warm, lying on a soft duvet. The light was pouring in from everywhere, and at some point, it even started to blind her. She suddenly opened and then quickly closed them. A sunbeam had blinded her directly in the eyes. This wasn't her room - there were no always-drawn curtains here. Turning her head away from the window, she tried with all her might to pull the blanket over her head and doze off for another hour, but her gaze stopped at the cup on the bedside table. Lyra doesn't drink tea. She doesn't like it:
"Oh, yesterday's gentleman left it," Lucas informed her. He was coming towards her with a tray of food.
"You were so weak yesterday that young man made it for you. He also ordered me to give it to you for a week. 'It'll help you recover,' " he quoted Adrian's voice. "And then he left," the spirit grinned.
"And nothing else happened," Lyra asked, squinting.
