As she walked out, I stared at my office door, slammed behind her.
I flinched at the sound. I didn’t know if I wanted to react. I didn’t know if I was angry at her for challenging me or slamming the door so loudly.
But amid my anger, I understood hers. She felt insulted by my actions, but that didn’t give her a reason to talk to me like that.
My mood went sour. I was mad at her for being mad at me. I will have to punish her for raising her voice.
It was a good thing my office was soundproof. It would have been embarrassing for me.
