Chapter 81. Past
Irtaza was in his office. His brain was filled with a lot of assumptions as he continued to think about Zahra's confessions the night before. His brain didn't believe that she loved him, though his heart wanted to trust her words. He could sense something fishy because, given what he had made her go through, she wouldn't come to accept this marriage, let alone love him back.
Her words were playing with his mind, doing things to his heart. He felt as if he had achieved her, yet at the same time, he felt empty.
Her acceptance toward him and her confession was unsettling.

The words were soulful, yet what lacked was her soul in those words. She had uttered those words like she was an empty shell with no emotion residing within her. He had read it in her eyes.
