Chapter 67. No More Theodore
Adeline’s POV
Of course, I whispered in my head. I actually didn’t feel like he was a threat.
I studied his face again. It wasn’t just with his face, it was a certain way I felt around him.
“You don’t look like one,” I added, “but… looks can be deceiving.”
His eyes stayed on me, quiet and steady. “Then leave my looks,” he said gently. “Look beyond them. Do you feel I am a threat?”
Hmmm…
I hesitated. I didn’t answer. I just turned away and walked off away with my thoughts.
My footsteps carried me back to where the nurse was waiting for me. The same one who’d called me Luna, as if I had asked her to call me Luna.
“Luna Adeline, we—” she began.
“Just call me Adeline,” I cut her off. “I prefer it that way.”
The title no longer held any pride for me. It actually meant nothing to me. It was just a title.
Theodore was the one who meant everything to me and I wanted nothing to do with him anymore, and the word Luna fel
