Adeline’s POV

“We… we’re not even sure about that.”

“You know you are. You feel it too,” Ezra replied. “You feel every single thing I feel. It wasn’t a coincidence we met. It was fate.”

“Wow!” Rosa whispered beside me, clearly caught in the middle of a love story she hadn’t expected. “So he’s your fated mate?” she asked, then turned sharply to me. “Then what about Theodore?”

If there was one thing Rosa was known for, it was not knowing when not to say something.

What she asked me now was something she should have waited to ask in private, not here—not in front of him.

“I don’t know, Rosa! I don’t know!”

“You know, Adeline,” Ezra said, “listen to what’s inside you.”

He wasn’t wrong. I wouldn’t lie—my wolf had felt something too. A pull. A connection I couldn’t explain away. I did feel it.

But it was all happening so fast.

Theodore was still there, not just in memory but in some tiny corner of my heart, hanging there l
