Chapter 3
Dante's POV
"Sir, you have someone here to see you," one of the servants at the Dante residence said to the mansion's owner.
"Who is he?" he asked.
"The man you are expecting, sir." The servant opened the door as his boss waved his hand to signal him to do so.
"Mr. Dante," a man dressed in formal attire said loudly, walking towards Mr. Dante.
"Here you go, once again, an additional property." The man gave a document to Mr. Dante with a sly smile on his face.
"So it's done, hmm?" he moaned. He opened the document and glanced through it.
"That's right, now owned by no other than Jason Dante." He took a glass of wine from a servant's tray.
"I'm very pleased. So how about the girl?" he asked as he squinted at the man.
"She would be sent packing by morning." The man smiled.
"Well done, Lawyer Woo-bin." Dante stood up with the glass in his hand and walked towards the terrace, which was as wide as a theater stage. Looking at the beautiful city of Seoul from the penthouse's 11th floor, he sipped from his glass joyfully.
"Let's see what she will do now. She will have no option but to come back to me," he muttered to himself.
"Sir, how about the promotion?" Woo-bin asked in a low tone.
Seeing the way Jason turned sideways and chuckled, he smiled, thinking it was a positive review.
"Patience, Woo-bin, patience," Jason said as he took three bundles of cash wrapped in 100 thousand dollars each and placed them on Woo bin's palm. "For now, go and flex," he smiled at his lawyer.
"Thank you, sir," Woo bin appreciated as he set off to leave.
"William," Jason screamed out loud, "by 7 am, I will have to go over to Kitty's house; make sure to get everything ready."
"Yes, sir," William, his house manager, said to him.
"And also, tell Nanny to prepare her room; she will be back by tomorrow night." He smiled, thinking about it.
"Sir, she wouldn't stay in your room?" William questioned.
"No, not for now," Jason said and dismissed William.
Kitty had been his girlfriend for three years now; ever since she joined the firm, he had always had a thing for her. She was one of the best lawyers who worked for him. Not a case had she lost before. It was mainly why she sparked his interest. He loved her firing spirit and her positivity. She would take things extreme and knew exactly what his firm stood for.
He fired some of the lawyers, seeing they couldn't meet up to his standard. But the year Kitty joined his firm, he had never met any young and inexperienced lawyer so determined. And within four years, she had done so much for the firm. She was an asset he was ready to keep, and he was ready to do anything at all just so he would keep her by his side. Asking her to be his girlfriend was part of the things he could do.
He walked to his bedroom, and his eyes trailed over the room. Pictures of him and her were hung on the wall. Those were some of the ways he used to woo her. He wasn't that romantic, not a picture-savvy either. But he would become anything just so she would stay by his side.
He had never thought of settling down in his life, but with her, he knew he would dare. But with the current situation, they were in right now, it would be more difficult to get her to accept.
In a moment came the morning sun. It shone brightly through the curtains on the window. And the horns of cars on the highway were like an alarm to anyone who lived in the city. Jason, like every morning, awoke on his bed and washed his mouth. Then he took a hot bath in the jacuzzi; he never missed it.
He would have his legs waxed every time he spotted just one hair. He used to be a hairy man, but with all the waxing he had done, not a single hair was found on his body.
He was muscular and huge, six feet tall with his pale American skin, but his hair was Asian, and his eyes were as well, a resemblance he took from his mother. His mother was Korean, and his father was American. After his father's death when he was ten, his mother relocated to Korea, where he finished high school. But for university, he went to Harvard, and as an American citizen, he earned his license to practice law in America, which he did until an uncertain thing happened.
He had been living his life the way he was now because of that hurtful memory, something he never talked about. He left America and, for years, had been living in Korea after rebuilding his empire.
And now, he owned the largest law firm in Korea with a net worth of over 200 billion dollars. He had become a proud and accomplished man over the years, but still, he was not satisfied. He needed something, something he never disclosed to anyone.
"Sir, the car is ready," his driver said to him. He wore his suit and put on an expensive shoe to match the blue suit he was wearing.
Then he took his sunglasses and his earphones and walked out of the penthouse. On their way to the girl's house, he couldn't stop imagining what state he would find her in. He kept laughing to himself as he thought of different ways he could see her, one of which was funny to him: her having her stuff thrown in her face in the middle of the road.
Yeah, he wanted her to be embarrassed for some reason best known to him. He was prepared.
