Chapter 34

Kitty’s POV

I listed all the things we needed to do so we could get ahead of the situation before it got out of hand. Jason was lost, and he clearly needed my help in this. I knew Trish legally was not involved with James, but we didn't know if they were meeting up when no one could see them. All her phone records show no record of any outgoing calls to James, but I didn't know if they had a middleman or something.

Jason was still looking at me in awe, and I almost scoffed at how ridiculous he was being. We dated for so many years, and he still was shocked at how fast my brain worked even under pressure. I wish I could say I told him so, but that wouldn't help at the moment. I would save it for later. If he only listened to me that I didn't trust James one bit in the beginning when he introduced James to me, but he didn't listen, and now we were in this situation. I wasn't going to blame him for being misguided; he wasn't street-smart.
