Chapter 53. Brent's Post
“Who called you?” Brent asked after Beverley returned. The woman smiled and shook her head slowly.
“No one. Just an old acquaintance,” Beverley replied as she helped Brent put on his tie. She inhaled as much air as she could and filled her lungs with the tantalizing scent of Brent’s perfume.
Beverley felt calmer after that. She finished her work and smiled with satisfaction at Brent’s neat tie. She looked up. Brent looked at her with a furrowed brow.
“Why?” Beverley asked in confusion.
“It’s not another man, is it?” Brent’s tone was probing.
Beverley chuckled. A sweet smile appeared on her lips. “I’m only yours, Brent.”
He leaned over and kissed her on the lips. Fortunately, the people had already left. No one dared to disturb the love-struck couple.
Brent pressed against Beverley’s nape and deepened the kiss. He didn’t want to let go, but it was too late. He couldn’t linger.
