Chapter 72. Revelations and Confessions

Lillian’s POV

When I opened my eyes, I saw some of the servants in the packhouse. I tried for a moment to remember where I was and recalled everything that had happened.

The servants seemed to know about my princess status because they greeted me with respect before leaving the room. I was a bit surprised at how they had found out.

Arsenio shut the door when they left. I tried to sit up, but I felt too weak to lift myself from the bed. Aldrich quickly held my hand and pulled me back down.

“You ain’t strong yet.”

I stared at him and at his hand on my arm, his touch gentle. His other hand touched my forehead.

“You still have a high fever. The doctor who came to check on you just left, and he said you need to rest and not think about anything—just rest.”
